Rick Rys, PE, is an automation and energy transition consultant with more than 40 years of engineering leadership across process industries and electric utility systems. After a 20-year career with The Foxboro Company (now Schneider Electric), he established R2Controls (R2Controls.com) in 1996 to advise global industrial clients. Rick recently retired as Director of Consulting at ARC Advisory Group, where his research focused on grid automation, microgrids, and the evolving dynamics of the clean energy transition.
